2024 Make Tracks Through the Zoo

We are excited to share that we are looking forward to St. Louis Children’s Hospital Make Tracks Through the Zoo on Sunday, May 19! Participants will run through Forest Park and the entire last mile of the race will finish inside the Zoo. Participants will have the opportunity to enjoy a post-race party in Schnuck Family Plaza, sponsor activities, pick-up awards and receive a post-race breakfast. Volunteers will assist in various areas including at breakfast, water stations, the start and finish lines, the awards table, as well as directing Forest Park and Zoo course traffic, and as general event aids. Volunteer Event Details 

Event Date: Sunday, May 19, 2024

Event Time: 7:00 – 10:30 a.m. 

Location: Zoo grounds and Forest Park

 

Shift Times and Assignments

Click HERE to review a detailed description of each volunteer assignment before signing up. Volunteers will be given final assignments the morning of the event, during volunteer dispatch. Please be prepared for long periods of standing, walking, and being on your feet most of the time, as well as potentially high temperatures. This event will be held in May and will be outside.

• 5:30 AM to 10:30 AM - Event Aid, Water Station, Forest Park Course, Start Line, Finish Line
• 5:30 AM to 8:00 AM - Registration at the Muny
• 6:00 AM to 10:30 AM - Breakfast, Sponsorship Assistants, Zoo Crossing Guards
• 6:30 AM to 8:30 AM - Zoo Registration
• 6:30 AM to 10:30 AM - Zoo Course Pathway Guides
• 7:00 AM to 10:30 AM - Awards, 1 Mile Race

Additional Notes:

• Minimum age for volunteering is 15 years old.
• This is a rain or shine event. 
• Meal: Special Events will provide grab-and-go breakfast items and beverages for volunteers.
• Uniform: Make Tracks Through the Zoo volunteer t-shirt, khaki or solid color pants/shorts, volunteer name tag (sticker nametags will also be available in the Volunteer Dispatch Room). Please see your volunteer registration confirmation email for details about pre-event volunteer t-shirt pick up. T-shirt pick-up will also be provided during event day check-in.
